Steven J. Chin is the Senior Pastor at the Boston Chinese Evangelical Church. He also serves on the Chinatown Safety Committee and is a council member of the Gospel Coalition.

Born and grew up in the Boston area, Steven went on to college at New York University where he earned a BE in Industrial Engineering. It was during college that he came to dedicate his life to the Lord and began to attend a Chinese church in New York’s Chinatown. He also received his MS in Industrial Engineering at Polytechnic University and his Master in Public Administration at New York University. After working as a Senior Health Planner for the Mass. Dept. of Public Health, he switched careers to serve in church ministry. Steven received the Master of Arts in Biblical Studies and the Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. He has served on the staff of the Boston Chinese Evangelical Church as Assistant to the Pastor starting in 1977, became Associate Pastor in 1984, and became Senior Pastor in 2000.

Steven is married to Nancy and has two adult children, Stefanie and Matthew and a granddaughter, Madison (through Stefanie). He enjoys playing basketball and following the Celtics, Patriots, and the Red Sox.
