Jack Lum was raised in St. Louis, Missouri and became a Christian when he was seven years old. He worked in St. Louis as a mechanical engineer after graduating from the University of Missouri. After working as an engineer for several years, Jack attended Biola University in Los Angeles, CA. He eventually pursued God's calling to the ministry and attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago receiving his Master of Divinity degree in June, 1996. Jack worked at the Chinese Christian Union Church in Chicago's Chinatown as Assistant to the Pastor.

He has been married to Mary, since July 1997. They have a baby boy. After overseeing youth ministries at BCEC for four years, Jack is now overseeing the young adult ministries and college ministries.
