Pastor Kenneth Kwong has been serving at BCEC since 1995.
He started working as the Chinese Youth Ministry Director,
planning and coordinating both the youth and college ministries,
outreaching and ministering to the Cantonese speaking teenagers
and young adults of the Boston Chinese community. He was ordained
and installed as Assistant Pastor in September 2003.
Pastor Kwong was born in Hong Kong and came to Boston in
1983. He started attending church when he was in elementary
school in Hong Kong. When he came to Boston, he attended BCEC
and was baptized there in 1984. In 1987, he went to New York
City and continued his study in communication and mass media.
In 1990, he finished his undergraduate study and obtained
a B.A. degree from Queens College. In 1992, he obtained a
M.S. degree in instructional media production from New York
Institute of Technology. In 1991, God called him into full
time ministry. Therefore, as soon as he finished the Master
program, he went to Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in
Massachusetts and studied for Master for Divinity. At the
same time, he started serving at BCEC as a youth fellowship
counselor. In 1995, he graduated from the seminary and was
offered an intern position at BCEC. After a year of internship,
he became a full time staff. He is married to Carman since
2003. On Dec. 31, 2004, God gave them a son. They named him
in English Ethan and in Chinese King-Lam, meaning constantly
wait for the return of the Lord.
