BCEC Formed New Mandarin Congregation in Its Newton Campus

Coincide with the 10 year celebration of its Newton Campus, Boston Chinese Evangelical Church has added a new Mandarin congregation to serve and minister to the Mandarin speaking Chinese in Newton area. The newly formed Mandarin Congregation will join the English and Cantonese Congregations in offering programs and services to the community as well as having its own worship service that meets every Sunday. Services such as English Classes, children’s programs, and various fellowship gatherings will continue to serve the community.

“Praise God for leading us to form the new Mandarin Congregation and better serve the Mandarin speaking Chinese in Newton and nearby cities.” Peter Wong, the minister leading the newly formed congregation. Minister Wong also welcomes Mandarin speaking folks to join their upcoming Thanksgiving gathering being held in the evening of November 28, 2013.

Associate Pastor and head of the Chinese Congregation, Pastor Daniel Chan, shared “With the new Newton Mandarin Congregation, Boston Chinese Evangelical Church continues with our vision and burden of serving the Chinese in the Greater Boston area. We can share God’s blessings with our neighbors through this new congregation.”

Boston Chinese Evangelical Church signed a Purchase and Sales Agreement to acquire 120 Shawmut Avenue in South Boston near its Chinatown Campus located in 249 Harrison Avenue. With the new space, the church is also planning to expand its ministries and community services in the Chinatown area.
