Speaker Biography
Steve Weemes is originally from Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1981 with a degree in psychology before moving to Riverside California. He spent four years making disciples among high school students through CRU. That’s when he met Kathi, a public-school math teacher who volunteered with the CRU ministry. Steve and Kathi were married in 1983.
Steve and Kathi’s ministry assignment after 2 years of language school was to teach at Christian Academy in Japan (CAJ), a school in Tokyo for missionary kids. (Kathi taught math at the elementary, middle and high school levels for 20 years.) Steve taught for 8 years before transitioning into full time church planting ministry. For the next 11 years Steve did church-planting in the Tokyo area, as well as serving in field leadership.
In 2011, Steve and Kathi were asked to consider a change in ministries – to mobilize for East Asia, so they said farewell to Japan and settled in California.
Steve serves as national director of the OMF Missions Consulting Team. This team comes alongside churches who want to build missions interest and develop a clear focus for overseas involvement.
Steve and Kathi live in Fresno, CA where they enjoy their 2 kids and 7 grandkids.

Workshop Description:
The world is more connected than ever, yet billions have never heard the Gospel. Missions is no longer limited by geography—today’s opportunities include social media, streaming, gaming, online communities, and other digital spaces where people live and search for hope.
Join us for an interactive workshop led by Indigitous, a global movement equipping followers of Jesus to bring the Gospel to new people, places, and spaces. You’ll hear inspiring stories of digital evangelism, learn practical strategies, and explore fresh ways to think about your own role in God’s mission—whether that’s through tech skills, creative content, or simply being present where God has placed you.
Whether you’re a student, a young professional, or anyone ready to be part of God’s global story, this workshop will challenge you to rethink missions for a connected world—and discover how God can use your unique gifts to make an eternal impact.
Workshop Speaker Bio:
Greta Li is a core member of the Indigitous US network. She first connected with Indigitous in 2021 through its Young Adult Digital Missions Cohort, during a season of asking God how her faith and work could intersect during COVID-19. Alongside her full-time work in the public sector where she uses data and regulatory finance to protect consumers, Greta has spent the last four years serving alongside Indigitous. She has found a role in digital missions through leading hackathons, workshops, collaborative research, and connecting with global missions leaders at the 4th Lausanne Congress in Incheon, Korea, in 2024. Greta also has a heart for prayer, evangelism, and discipling young women.
