What’s New in BCEC
THE DEACON NOMINATION COMMITTEE is now receiving nominations for the next deacon term (November 2026–October 2028). BCEC members may submit names to any committee member, with the support of five BCEC members and subject to the qualifications outlined in BCEC’s Constitution. The deadline is September 8, 2026.
The committee asks for your prayers as we seek the Lord’s guidance for the deacon nomination process. Please pray that the Lord will lead and provide the right people to serve His church. This year’s Deacon Nomination Committee includes Pastor Thomas Lee, Pastor Andy Su, Elder Chuk-Lam Yuen, Robert Huie, Billy Ng, and Ida Kwong.
BAPTISM is a ceremony where a Christian publicly declares his/her faith in obedience to Christ. Our next baptism will be on September 13, 2026. The application can be downloaded here. Application deadline is August 23, 2026.
TRY ALPHA Curious about life? about faith? about God? Alpha is a space to explore the Christian faith and discuss your questions with people who are just like you. There’s 12 Friday evening sessions and a Saturday 11/7 session. Each session has food, film, and a discussion where it’s an opportunity for you to say whatever you like in an informal, relaxed way. You can join in or say nothing at all; totally up to you. No matter what your background or belief, you’re all welcome. Starts Friday, 9/18 at 6:30pm, in Room 208 at Newton campus. For more info, contact Kevin Fong or Caroline Lee at alphabcec@gmail.com or visit https://alphausa.org.
GRIEFSHARE is a grief support group for those who have lost a loved one. We meet for thirteen weekly sessions exploring different topics related to our journey through grief. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, September 15 from 7-8:30pm in the Conference Room. We are currently open to volunteers who would like to support and join our ministry team. If you are interested and have questions, please contact Monique at griefshare@bcec.net.

BCEC Visioning Process
UPDATE: The BCEC Vision Discernment process has completed Stage 4 (Look Ahead), which involved seeking clarity for God’s direction regarding BCEC’s goals over the next five years.
The Vision team has identified the top strategic areas which will be further developed over the next few months. Please pray for the leadership and staff as they further develop the strategies, and prepare for the communications to our congregation.
Please go to https://www.bcec.net/vision for more information on the Vision Discernment Process.
PRAYER: “Father, we commit our ways to You (Psalm 37:5), trusting You to bring Your plan to pass. Give the Vision team and our congregation confidence to walk forward in faith, knowing You have plans for welfare and not for evil, to give us a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Help us to rest in the mystery of Your ways, while standing firm on the stability of Your promises. May we trust You to bring Your purposes to pass, for Your Kingdom’s sake, and may our role be to trust and obey, not to strive or rust. Give us faith to trust You with the unknown, and joy in the journey as You unfold Your plan. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

SAFETY ALERT
Recently, several members of our church and their family members have been victims of robberies in the Chinatown area. In these incidents, suspects approached pedestrians in a vehicle, pretending to ask for directions or offer a gift before suddenly snatching their gold jewelry and driving away.
Please stay alert, keep a safe distance from unfamiliar vehicles, and use caution when approached by strangers. If you become the victim of a crime, call 911 immediately.
May the Lord watch over and protect our church family and community.
