2026 BCEC TOWN HALL will be held in person at the Newton Campus (218 Walnut Street, Sanctuary) on Sunday, October 18, 1:30-3:00pm and live-streamed two-way to Josiah Quincy Upper School (900 Washington Street, Boston, MA 02111, Auditorium). It will be held in English with Cantonese and Mandarin translation. We encourage our BCEC members to attend the Town Hall to become fully informed about the FY26-27 General Fund, Mission Fund, Charity Fund and Expansion Fund budgets. In addition, the draft of the FY25-26 Financial Report will be presented. Light refreshments (baos) will be provided.

Please RSVP to attend the Annual Meeting (BCEC Members only). Please note Associate Members do not count towards quorum and cannot vote, only BCEC Full Members count towards quorum and can vote.

2026 BCEC Annual Congregation Meeting will be held at the Josiah Quincy Upper School Auditorium (900 Washington St, Boston, MA 02111) on Sunday, October 25, from 2:00–4:00 PM.

All BCEC members are encouraged to attend this important church wide annual meeting. We will not be providing online streaming. Around 300 members are required to meet quorum. If quorum is met, we will vote on the approval of the deacon nominees, budgets, and the annual meeting minutes. Those parking at the Herald St. garage will need to get their parking ticket validated at our building 120 Shawmut Ave to avoid parking fees. Light refreshments will be provided at the end of the meeting. Please RSVP here to attend.

UPDATE: The BCEC Vision Discernment process has completed Stage 4 (Look Ahead), which involved seeking clarity for God’s direction regarding BCEC’s goals over the next five years.

The Vision team has identified the top strategic areas which will be further developed over the next few months. Please pray for the leadership and staff as they further develop the strategies, and prepare for the communications to our congregation.

RECRUITING PDAS COUNSELORS Want to build life-giving relationships and make a difference to youth in our neighborhood? Come be a mentor and homework helper at BCEC’s Chinatown after school outreach, Project Destiny Autumn to Spring! PDAS exists to connect local youths in grades 6-12 with a loving Christian community through homework help and mentoring while sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are open on school days Tues-Fri 3:15-6:15pm (Weds 12:30-4:30). We are looking for Christian adults, college and older, to receive training and serve as counselors for one or more afternoons a week. Cross-Campus Group Updates

GRIEFSHARE is a grief support group for those who have lost a loved one. We meet for thirteen weekly sessions exploring different topics related to our journey through grief. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, September 15 from 7-8:30pm in the Conference Room. We are currently open to volunteers who would like to support and join our ministry team. TRY ALPHA Curious about life? about faith? about God? Alpha is a space to explore the Christian faith and discuss your questions with people who are just like you. There’s 12 Friday evening sessions and a Saturday 11/7 session. Each session has food, film, and a discussion where it’s an opportunity for you to say whatever you like in an informal, relaxed way. You can join in or say nothing at all; totally up to you. No matter what your background or belief, you’re all welcome. Starts Friday, 9/18 at 6:30pm, in Room 208 at Newton campus. Social Responsibility Ministry Events and Volunteer Opportunities

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Route One Ministry (www.lovedbyrouteone.org), a BCEC Charity Fund ministry partner, is looking for volunteers to help with cleaning and organizing to get their drop-in center ready. This drop-in center will provide a place of rest for women experiencing homelessness, home insecurity, and other vulnerabilities.

• Time: 12pm -5pm (volunteer for a minimum 2 hour slot)

NEPAL FLASH FLOODS DISASTER – Aid Relief Update

The Social Responsibility Committee, along with the Missions Committee, the Board of Deacons, and Pastor Tom Lee, are currently monitoring the devastation from flash floods in Nepal, which has killed over a thousand people. Thousands of people remain missing and an untold number of Nepali families are in dire need. We plan to be in communication with US-based humanitarian agencies that are partnering with local Christian relief and development agencies to see how we can best support both emergency and on-going relief efforts. We will inform the church soon on how our church can respond and help the people of Nepal.

Boston Rescue Mission: Serving Meals

The Social Responsibility Committee is looking for volunteers to serve food to folks at the Boston Rescue Mission during the lunchtime of every third Saturday in even-numbered months going forward. If you or your small group is interested in serving, please call or text Szechun Leung at 617-304-6562.

Nursery Church nursery is a special place where our youngest members are loved, cared for, and prayed over—and we need your help to keep it thriving!

If you enjoy caring for children or want to support families, we would love for you to join our team. Volunteers serve on a rotating schedule during services at 9:15am and 11:15am, and no prior experience is required—just a caring heart and a willingness to serve.
