BAPTISM is a ceremony where a Christian publicly declares his/her faith in obedience to Christ. Our next baptism will be on December 6, 2026. The application can be downloaded here. Application deadline is November 8, 2026.

2026 BCEC TOWN HALL will be held in person at the Newton Campus (218 Walnut Street, Sanctuary) on Sunday, October 18, 1:30-3:00pm and live-streamed two-way to Josiah Quincy Upper School (900 Washington Street, Boston, MA 02111, Auditorium). It will be held in English with Cantonese and Mandarin translation. We encourage our BCEC members to attend the Town Hall to become fully informed about the FY26-27 General Fund, Mission Fund, Charity Fund and Expansion Fund budgets. In addition, the draft of the FY25-26 Financial Report will be presented. Light refreshments (baos) will be provided.

(URGENT) ANNUAL MEETING – We Need Your Participation!

We need 325 members to reach quorum, but only 219 have registered so far. We are still 106 members short!

Our 2026 BCEC Annual Congregation Meeting will be held on Sunday, October 25, from 2:00–4:00 PM, at the Josiah Quincy Upper School Auditorium (900 Washington St., Boston).

Your presence matters! Reaching quorum is essential for us to conduct important church business, including voting on the deacon nominees, budgets, and Annual Meeting minutes. We strongly encourage all BCEC Full Members to attend and be part of these important decisions.

Please note that only BCEC Full Members count toward quorum and are eligible to vote. There will be no online streaming. Parking at the Herald St. garage requires ticket validation at 120 Shawmut Ave. Light refreshments will be served after the meeting.

NEW FAMILY FELLOWSHIP

We are excited to kick off our new Family Fellowship with a potluck lunch!

This will be a relaxed afternoon of good food, games, and time to get to know one another. Families with kids of all ages are welcome – feel free to invite any families you know who might like to join us.

WORSHIP BOOT CAMP will be held on November 8 from 2-8pm! This day-long event is an opportunity for students (6th through 12th grade) to make music and learn the fundamentals of being on a worship team from Minister Chris Horte (and other experienced worship team members). We’ll go over everything from how to read a chord chart to collaborating with others to improvising & harmony. We’ll break up into groups, learn songs, have dinner together, and close out the evening with a worship “concert” for parents to celebrate what the students have learned. UPDATE: The BCEC Vision Discernment process has completed Stage 4 (Look Ahead), which involved seeking clarity for God’s direction regarding BCEC’s goals over the next five years.

The Vision team has identified the top strategic areas which will be further developed over the next few months. Please pray for the leadership and staff as they further develop the strategies, and prepare for the communications to our congregation.

SHORT-TERM MISSIONS SUPPORT Each year, BCEC sponsors short-term mission teams that serve people of different ages in locations around the world. Teams may participate in evangelism, discipleship, leadership training, construction projects, or relief work.

Financial support is available through the BCEC Missions Fund:

• BCEC-sponsored teams: Eligible participants may receive up to 50% of trip costs, along with fundraising support.
• Non-BCEC teams: Eligible participants may receive up to one-third of trip costs from the Missions Fund.

To be considered for financial support, you must be a BCEC member. Please submit a Short-Term Missions application at least three months before your departure date.

NEPAL FLASH FLOODS DISASTER – Aid Relief Update

BCEC will be sending humanitarian aid relief funds in the next few weeks to help in response to the devastation from the flash floods in Nepal, which have killed more than 1,100 people. Over 3,916 people are still missing and an untold number of Nepali families are in dire need. We will be partnering with US based-Christian relief and development agencies, who support local churches in Nepal.  If you wish to help with the relief efforts, please donate to the BCEC Charity Fund.

Cross-Campus Group Updates

GRIEFSHARE is a grief support group for those who have lost a loved one. We meet for thirteen weekly sessions exploring different topics related to our journey through grief. If you are interested and have questions, please contact Monique at griefshare@bcec.net.

TRY ALPHA Curious about life? about faith? about God? Alpha is a space to explore the Christian faith and discuss your questions with people who are just like you. There’s 12 Friday evening sessions and a Saturday 11/7 session. Each session has food, film, and a discussion where it’s an opportunity for you to say whatever you like in an informal, relaxed way. You can join in or say nothing at all; totally up to you. No matter what your background or belief, you’re all welcome. Starts Friday, 9/18 at 6:30pm, in Room 208 at Newton campus. Social Responsibility Ministry Events and Volunteer Opportunities

Boston Rescue Mission: Serving Meals

The Social Responsibility Committee is looking for volunteers to serve food to folks at the Boston Rescue Mission during the lunchtime of every third Saturday in even-numbered months going forward. Nursery Church nursery is a special place where our youngest members are loved, cared for, and prayed over—and we need your help to keep it thriving!

If you enjoy caring for children or want to support families, we would love for you to join our team. Volunteers serve on a rotating schedule during services at 9:15am and 11:15am, and no prior experience is required—just a caring heart and a willingness to serve.
