When & Where do you meet?

We gather every Sunday for English Worship at 9:15 am at the auditorium inside Josiah Quincy Upper School/JQUS (900 Washington St, Boston, MA 02111). Street parking is usually available around the Josiah Quincy Upper School or the 120 Shawmut building.

Before the worship service starts, you can get a temporary parking pass at the Welcome Table at JQUS for the Herald Street parking garage (120 Herald St, Boston, MA 02118) which should be placed on your dashboard. If you become a BCEC member or regular attendee, you can request a parking permit.

What can I expect at your Sunday Worship Service?

On a typical Sunday morning, you’ll gather with others to worship through singing, listening to a sermon, and connecting with people. Typically, our services are around 80-90 minutes. On the first Sunday of each month, we take communion together. Periodically, we celebrate baptisms, welcome new members, and share testimonies of God’s grace in our lives. After service, stop by the Welcome Table to ask about other events and updates. We would love to connect with you!

Are there programs for my kids?

On Sunday, we offer great programming for kids through our children’s ministry called KidMin. You are welcome to drop off your children on the third floor of 120 Shawmut Ave. before coming over to JQUS.

KidZ Time 9:15am-10:30am
• Preschool (ages 2 to K): Watch videos with Biblical content. Play educational games and toys, puzzles, coloring and other activities
• Elementary (1st to 5th grade): Watch videos with Biblical content. Have low key activities such as board games, puzzles

Between Time 10:30am-11:15am
• Parents are asked to pick up your children after KidZ Time. This will give time for parents to eat snacks with your child or use the restroom before the next session, or to go home.

KidZ Sunday School 11:15am-12:30pm
• Preschool (ages 2 to K): Worship, Bible lessons
• Elementary (1st to 5th grade): Worship, Bible lessons

Nursery 9:15am-10:30am
• Infants and toddlers (ages 0-2)

What about my teens on Sunday?

Our youth ministry welcomes students in 6th grade and above. They first begin with joining the English service at JQUS at 9:15am. Afterward, there is a Youth Sunday School at 11:15am at 120 Shawmut Ave. There is also another Chinese Youth Fellowship for people speaking Mandarin and Cantonese at 2:00pm.

Newton English Congregation

When & Where do you meet?

We gather every Sunday for English Worship at 11 am at our historic building at 218 Walnut St. Newton, MA. There is plenty of street parking, although please be mindful not to park too close to our neighbors’ driveways. The best streets to park include Walnut St, Foster St, Paige St, and Washington St. Please do not park at the Trio. The commuter rail (Newtonville) and some bus stops (59 and 556) are nearby, although the recommended mode of transportation is driving.

What can I expect at your Sunday Worship Service?

On a typical Sunday morning, you’ll gather with others to worship through the following order of service:

Offering

Benediction

Typically, our services are around 70-80 minutes. On the first Sunday of each month, we take communion together. Periodically, we celebrate baptisms, welcome new members, and share testimonies of God’s grace in our lives. Our dress tends towards casual, though some opt for more business casual. After service, stop by the fellowship hall for coffee and refreshments. Once a month, we have lunch together.

What about my kids?

We have programming for kids of all ages called Junior Worship which includes nursery, pre-K, and elementary. Junior Worship meets at 9:15 am on the second floor in room 208. Please stop by the welcome table if you need assistance. Our youth ministry called TIOB, meets at 9:15 am in the Fellowship Hall. Children’s Sunday School begins at 11 am during the English service. Please stop by the welcome table for the latest information age groups and location. Students in 6th grade and above are encouraged to join the English service, so families are welcome to worship together.

How can I get involved at BCEC?
